Convert Raid 0 array from internal to external without losing data?

My current desktop has two HDDs in a Raid 0 configuration (stupid, I know). I'd like to save the data. Unfortunately this desktop and the new computer that I will be building next won't be in the same location.

I'm hoping that it is possible to take the HDDs out of my current PC and transplant them into a RAID external drive enclosure directly. If I do this, will I lose the data? All I want to be able to do is transport the HDDs easily to the new location so that I can transfer the data from the old machine to the new machine. I don't need the external drives to be bootable or anything.

Thanks!

To take the drives from one raid array to another and keep the data, the raid controllers need to be identical.
That won't happen with motherboard RAID solutions, the external RAID enclosure will not recognise the volumes and want to initialise them (losing all data).
You should copy the data from the array (while in the computer) to an external drive to transport the files.

Even with the same RAID controller, it may not pick up the array without deleting it. You really need to do a normal backup before you attempt anything.
