Hiya,
I've potentially got task of getting two separate networks 10 miles apart to connect with each other.

What I currently have on Site A is
Server running 2008R2 (DC/File Server/RDC in)
Server running 2008R2 (Music Storage/SQL 2012 Server Standard)
Server running 2008R2 (Music Streamer)
Various Windows 7 PC's (need to connect to site servers)

On Site B will be:
Server running 2008R2 (DC/File Server/RDC in)
Server running 2008R2 (Music Storage/SQL 2012 Server Standard)
Various Windows 7 PC's (need to connect to site servers)

What I need to be able to do is replicate changes in SQL database between sites and music files, both sites should be able to continue using internet connection for web access.

Changes will be made overnight 00:00-07:00, all machines need to remain available on local network at all times... for access to music content.

Many Thanks in advance

Use Ethernet and a fiber optic solution. Use the fiber optic for the 2 servers to "talk" to each other. For the computers at the servers, connect them through a 12-24 port Ethernet switch with the servers on port 0/1. Re-utilize the fiber optic to network your computer to the servers.

Hi Jeff-j,
I expected there would be questions, before any answers...

At site A we will have FTTC so 80Mbps Download and 20Mbps upload and a Vigor 2820 router

Site B has ADSL (which we may upgrade) and unsure of router, will look to replace with Vigor 2820 router to make configuration simpler...

Thanks for getting back to me, all Server's and PC's are already networked at each site, I did think about using router to create a VPN link between both sites, however I believe this wouldn't allow internet traffic to reach the internet?

You should be able to build a site to site vpn to allow for inter office traffic to flow between the two sites, but still have internet access go out of their respected connections. I have a client with Fortigates firewalls at each site and a site to site vpn to access both networks.
