Hello,

i have recently installed two R9 280X on my mobo. i have a thermaltake 750W PSU which seems to handle the cards ok.

i have done the following:
- Installed the crossfire bridge
- Enable Crossfire from amd Catalyst.

Unfortunately, it seems that i have the same exact performance as i have with a single r9 280x. I have tried Crysis and Crysis 3, and i havent noticed any framer-rate boost at all...

Am i doing something wrong or Crysis games are not optimized for Crossfire ?

P.S. i can see that Crossfire is enabled from GPU-Z...

Please help!

Thank you!

make sure you have installed the crossfire cable,if yes remove the first cable you got with your gfx card and use the other one, make sure to connect them together in the same slots, then followed by that open the catalyst control center and search for the crossfire x option and enable it and reply to me with results anyhow try any other game which has been optimized for crossfire like tomb raider or something crossfire enabled far cry 3 is good too

Hello and thank you for your reply. The bridge is ok i think as i am getting decent results in 3dmark. I have selected the crossfire option. The problem is with crysis 1 and crysis warhead. It seems that the usage of the 2nd gpu is 0% ... Im gonna try newer games and reply back. If you have any clue pls reply

im running similar setup as yours with r9 280x and u r fortunate that i have crysis installed so i guess all u should do is

try running each of the exectubles both Crysis.exe and crysis64.exe and see if one of them gives different preformance

Hey man,

it seems that i don't have a 64 bit version of Crysis..
P.s : I have tried Crysis 3 and the same thing happens. only GPU 1 is being used. i have reinstalled the drivers and i will give it a try again!

Any other ideas?

well if its only crysis not scaling with crossfire then maybe you are running version 1.0 try updating the game itself!

Im gonna update crysis and try again.

By the way , i have installed tomb raider everything maxed out and it seems that the game is using both GPUs but the second gpu usage chart seems a bit weird... have a look :

thats really normal cause you already max out tomb raider on 1 gpu and then utilize whatever left on the 2nd gpu its nothing to worry abou

thats cause you are forcing it run on your system i know crysis has compatibility issues with windows 7 and u have to set on windows vista sp 2 thats what you get :)

Im talking about Tomb Raider... i only get around 30FPS which seems quite low for an R9 280x Crossfire setup...

Btw IM using 14.4 stable Catalyst version . I havce noticed that i have the same fps ( OR EVEN HIGHER ) when disabling Crossfire from AMD Catalyst... Any idea why this happens ??!?!

Also, i forgot to mention that my PSU has only one 8-Pin cable and as the CF setup requires 4 x 8-Pin , i use 3 x MOLEX TO 8-Pin connectors . Could this be a problem ?

Sorry for triple posting!
