So my story started less than a week ago!,i cleaned out my heat sink and when i stupidly turned it on without placing on new thermal compound i was getting temperatures at about 90 Degrees on my CPU *it still had the thermal compound though*,so i quickly turned it off!,then i let the motherboard and psu sit on my glass desk for about 4 days as i searched for thermal paste!,today i got some,i cleaned out my CPU and heatsink with high percentage alcohol!,then i put on some new thermal compound i put a bit but my i7 CPU is large!.

i get two red lights on my motherboard near the CPU,a full spin of fans! and no image on my screen!?
i havent overclocked,i havent messed with BIOS,but i have this CPU for about 4/5 years and it never did this

my Step up is
i7 920
Dx58so
6GB Ram
Gtx 260
Cx600 non M
500GB of hard drive!

can you please help me out ? this is very sad as i am placing order for a upgrade and i would hate for having to include a CPU and motherboard aswell :/

i pull on the heatsink and nothing moves apart of the motherboard!,they have like little knobs which are twisted aganist the arrow direction *as if they are according to the arrows then they move around when i pull on them*

EDIT,it automatically turns on when i plug in the power from the back, but i still dont get video and i still have red LED

Admirable
Did you check to see if you bumped anything like your video card ram etc... Just push on the video card, and the power connectors and make sure they are going into the sockets nice and snug. after that take your ram out, and try to reseat it. After that take the cmos battery out for a full minute and then put it back in.
