I'm Upgrading my PC from:
AMD FX-4100 @ 3.6ghz
evga gtx 650
seagate baracuda 1TB HDD 7200 rpm
gigabyte m68mt-s2 MB
2x4GB ddr3 ram @ 1600mhz
600w rosewill capstone PSU
thermaltake commander case

Im upgrading the graphics to a Gigabyte gtx770oc 2gb, MB to a gigabyte 990fxa-ud3 MB, and the case to the phanteks enthoo pro.
I plan to OC my cpu to maybe around 4.2ghz maybe more after i get my watercooling. I play games like BF4, Dayz, skyrim and want to future proof my pc for upcoming next gen games. I have 2 questions:
1. will 2gb of vram be enough for a 1080p monitor in next gen games with maybe a auxillary monitor for multitasking?
2. How well does this mother board perform and should i think of getting a different one like the asrock 990fx killer?
Thanks for the help. :)

Upgrading the motherboard won't help your performance. It'll let you overclock, but the 4100 would bottleneck the 770 so hard.

Don't do it. If you are going to upgrade the motherboard, get either an i5 system or an 8320/8350. Otherwise buy a R9 280 range card, because your CPU will still be bottlenecking you.

To answer your questions:
1) Yes 2GB is fine for a single monitor gaming setup.
2) Your CPU will still be holding you back so it doesn't make much of a difference.

I'm planning to upgrade my cpu later when i make more money and probably go with a 8350.
