If it says repairing disk errors it may well mean physical damage requiring a new hard disk and either recovery dvd's or windows DVD
What program is reporting repairing disk errors ?
Both WD & seagate have bootable hard disk diagnostic bootable disk images
Available as well as windows diagnostic software which can check non bootable disks not your c:
Hirens boot cd image has those diagnostic programs
+ Samsung & hitachi/IBM
Once you know if you have a dying hard disk or something chkdsk can fix you can consider re installing windows back to delivery state (a recovery partition helps speed things up) you need to read manufacturers user guide about recovery process
