Low Performance for New Graphics Card?

Yesterday I installed the Superclocked EVGA GTX 760 2GB graphics card into my computer, replacing my old EVGA GTX 650 1GB, but i noticed two things: 1) Installing a new card proved to be quite annoying when it came to software issues, and 2) Game performance seemed to have not changed

I wasn't necessarily expecting some extensive increase in performance, but it should be running a little better at least. I have all of the drivers up to date, the old video cards drivers are also gone, and so far nothing too great has come out of it.

Should this be of any concern? Or is there something I should do to help increase performance? Granted I am trying to run certain games on ultra, which might be the case. As an example, Assassins's Creed IV ran with a noticeable frame rate drop while playing on ultra settings using my old GTX 650, which was expected, however I am experiencing almost the same drops and issues with the GTX 760, why is that? I know it might not be able to run it at perfect performance, but why is it the same as an older card?

These are my specs in case maybe the video card is not at fault:

CPU: Intel Core i5-3470 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor

Motherboard: Asus P8Z77-V LK ATX LGA1155 Motherboard

Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR3-1333 Memory

Storage: Seagate Barracuda 500GB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive

Video card: EVGA GeForce GTX 760 2GB Superclocked ACX Video Card

PSU: Rosewill Stallion 500W ATX Power Supply

OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (OEM) (64-bit)

Sound Card: Creative Labs Audigy SE 24-bit 96 KHz

The 760 is a substantially faster card.

To verify, you do have the monitor plugged into the graphics card right?

And how long have you had that power supply? It is pretty poor quality, so it could be that the power supply isn't able to deliver the power the 760 needs.

Yes the monitor is plugged in to the card, and I've had it since January 2013

EDIT - If I were to get a new power supply, what would you recommend? I don't have too much money to spend on one, so what would work?
