Hi,
My dad's computer was so full of viruses that I had to rebuild windows 7 home premium 64 bit on it. I was just following advice and didn't do any up front research. Therefore, I did not built any recovery discs. Windows installed properly, however, I am missing all drivers for the computer. I cannot even connect to the internet. I tried going to the ASUS website. I did see available drivers. But I have no idea which ones to install.
Please help!
Jamie

Solution
first install the chipset driver
then the latest VGA driver
followed by the latest LAN

Now you are able to connect to the internet via network cable.

next the audio driver and card reader
get the latest USB driver

now under Other download the file 1,2,4,5,and 6
Under Utilities get the latest ATKACPI driver and ASUS Live Update Utility

Bluetooth and wifi are kind of tricky, see if the ASUS Live Update Utility can ID them for you and get the right drivers

Yes that's the laptop. But I have no idea which drivers I'm supposed to download. There are so many. I can't get the laptop on the internet, and it is incapable of searching for drivers. Everything that was on it except the generic windows is wiped.

Well... What do you have running? Go to device manager and see what´s missing. Do you have LAN and/or Wireless LAN working? (At least LAN is normally installed with windows general driver) first install what's missing and then all the specific drivers/software for sound, graphics, etc. Normally card readers, bluetooth and webcam drivers aren´t installed... Maybe some will be by windows update in the optional updates

Follow the Mod's suggestion. You need the latest version of the chipset, LAN, Wireless, and USB 3.0 drivers for certain. The rest are not as vital, as Win7 will install them from its driver database.
You may eventually want to install the latest VGA driver, Touchpad, Card Reader, and which ever other drivers you decide you/he wants.

You can try Asus update tool, but if it fails or gets limitated somehow go here:
http://www.asus.com/Notebooks_Ultrabooks/K53E/HelpDesk_Download/

Choose the operating system and all drivers you need are listed by type. Some have more then one hardware possibility, you can go for try/error untill the right driver is instaled, first try for intel hardware in list and the latest of each. For download click in "global" and execute.
