I got a wireless usb keyboard, but it comes with an installation CD. How do I enter BIOS if I don't have the software on my new computer? I can't press the key that I need to enter the BIOS because my computer won't sense the keyboard

Yeung,

It depends on the BIOS and Mainboard. I use a Logitech wireless 360 and a Kensington wireless mouse and both worked when I did my most recent personal build for work using the ASUS Z9PE-D8 WS. However, it does not always work with all boards, I did a build for a friend who likes Gigabyte Mainboards and wanted the build for games, so it was a single CPU. I tried to see if plugging in a wireless keyboard and mouse would work and it did not.

I always keep a few cheap wired keyboards and...

I always keep a few cheap wired keyboards and mice around for just such situations.

Lastly, where did you plug in the wireless keyboard/USB? Into an onboard USB port, or into a chassis port? If the latter, try using the onboard plugins. Chassis ports typically require the drivers first in most boards I've worked with.

My board came with two internal Dongles which most people use as Keys when running CAD and other such applications and a USB is part of the Application and needed to unlock and allow the application to run. (Better than losing the USB for a $6,000 CAD App. :na:

Since I don't use CAD, I used the dongles (which are simply onboard USB plugins, except they reside on the board itself and when the chassis cover is put on they stay there) and they worked perfectly with the wireless keyboard and mouse at POST.

Good luck.
