Hi,

I currently support several different models of computers. I have a USB drive that has all of the system restore images saved onto it for the various models. Currently if I need to restore a computer I boot it up with a Windows 7 CD (all of them are Windows 7), then select the "restore from disk image" option, select the right one from the USB drive, and let it restore.

What I want to do is eliminate the boot CD. I want my USB drive to be bootable, with the option to restore to a disk image found on that USB drive. Is there a way to make it bootable with that functionality?

Thanks so much

Bootable USB creators normally format the drive before installing the ISO, so yes it will erase what's already in the drive... but you can resize it and create a small partition to install the ISO on, make this the first partition to anticipate possible booting issues. The restore images don't have to be in that same partition, so you can create it of just the necessary size.

Hi,

Just for clarity, will running this wipe out what is already on the drive? If so, should I just make a partition on the drive for the bootable image?

This is the first time I've done this kind of thing, so I'm just trying to save myself the time of having to guess and test.

Thanks!!
