HI everyone
I'm just about to upgrade my computer, finally removing XP and upgrading CPU etc.

I'm currently using a 3ware 9650SE with 4 X 250GB samsung spinpoint HHD. Now this card is old and I'm wondering if it will still return faster transfer speeds than an on-board SATA III raid setup which are on the new intel Z97 motherboards.

Any info very welcome

My current system is 4 x 250Gb SpinPoints are on Raid 0, with a boot disk that the 3ware 9650SE software made. Done about 8 years ago, I was mad on speed and over-clocking at the time, but not that bothered now.

The new build will have a Samsung 120Gb SSD for system boot and I'll be keeping the four Samsung HDD, I haven't really made my mind up on what Raid to use. The PC will be used for work Graphic/Web design, Audio (Cubase, Keyboards, Synth etc) and gaming.

I'll also purchase an external drive when funds allow.
