Okay, so I thought that the problem with my router has been fixed, but apparently, it isn't. Just now, I had to hard reset my router and I had to set up the password for it. This is strange. Either my router has gone to crap, or my ISP has been interfering with my connection lately. The very same thing just happened to me very recently (Saturday). I have a feeling that my router is going very bad, but I don't know, since there are some people saying that the router I have has some disconnection issues. My router is a D-Link DIR 655, my ISP is TDS Telecom.

This router has been working like someone just set it up.

This is very strange, because all devices are experiencing this too, not just mine. I have never touched my Xbox 360 once this week, not even download any games on Steam. All I did was watch youtube videos. It just disconnects and makes a new network and we have to set it up with the encryption key.

Not only does it disconnect, but the internet works much more slower on the mobile devices in our house than it does with our laptops. My mom said that her iPad goes really slow, and she watches asian movies late at night (later than the time I have to go to sleep). Somewhere around 11:00PM, if you want to know. It even loads the webpage slower than what it used to. When I go on my laptop the very next day (somewhere around 7-8AMish), my laptop has somewhat blazing-fast speeds. Of course I load youtube videos at 144p/240p but the webpages load faster than my mom's iPad.

My dad is coming back from Texas but we plan on getting a new ISP and a router after all of this, since we don't want this from happening ever again. Probably go for Comcast, since that's the fastest in our area with the highest data limit we know w/o any bundles, and my cousin's recommendation.

More about : wrong router

Go for Comcast, and let them set-up your router and modem.

Note that Comcast now charges if you go over a data limit. If you stream a lot of videos, you WILL go over it.

I know that, $10 for every 50GB over the limit...

But that's not entirely my concern yet. What I'm concerned about is how I have to reset my router in order for my internet to work. Which is entirely strange, because on ethernet, the network name is the same as what I had before.
For a simpler explanation - my old network before all of this started was called "netlink". Since we had to reset the router, we gone to "EDWARD-PC_Network" to now the glorious "Homenet". If I use the ethernet cable from the router, the network is recognized as "netlink".
