Hello,

I've recently been thinking about upgrading my graphics card seen as though i really want to play games like Skyrim, GTA IV, Battlefield 3 on high settings. The GPU i found was the GeForce GTX 660.
Now i really want to know if that GPU will be compatible with my current PC:

CPU: Intel Core i3 540, 3,06 GHz
Motherboard: MS-7613 (Iona-GL8E)
RAM: 6GB, DDR3
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GT 230
Power Supply: 300w

This is a link to my motherboard.

I read something about PCI-e 3.0 and i don't think my motherboard has that. I would very much appreciate it if someone could tell me if it would work and run. Or if i should look at a different video card. And i am willing to upgrade more things if necessary.

Anyways.

Thanks in advance!

The 750ti is about 20% faster than the 750 and the 660 is another 20% faster than the 750ti, but the 660 uses quite a bit more power than both of them. Since you would have to buy a power supply to use the 660 I would go with a 750ti. Here's a link to benchmarks showing the difference. You'll notice on Bioshock Infinite for example at 1080p and Ultra the 750 averages 50fps, the 750ti 60fps, and the 660 70fps about a 20% increase each step up in level of card.

Thanks for your reply! I really appreciate it. Now, does the GTX 660 have better performance than a GTX750? Or don't you really notice a difference between those two?

Sorry for all the questions, just trying to figure out which video card would be the best option. :)

Thanks for the information! I think i will get the 750ti like you said. Just one last question. Will my CPU hold back the FPS i'll be getting on games with the GTX 750TI? Or will i actually get 60 FPS on for example Bioshock infinite, 1080p, ultra settings?

Anyways thanks alot! :) Glad you answered!

Found this one myself: GIGABYTE NVIDIA GTX 750Ti 2GB PCI-E Graphics Card. Don't know if it any better than other GTX 750 ti versions though.. But i think that will get me some good frames on skyrim :)
Anyways, thanks for your help again.
