Greetings,

I'm looking to upgrade my GPU - without being "bottle necked" by my less than modern CPU.

Current config:

ASUS Motherboard - M4A87TD EVO
AMD Phenom II X4 955.
750W Corsair PW-Supply.
ATI Radeon HD 5770 1gb
12 Gigs of Ram

I literally know nothing about the classification of different generations of GPUs.

I've been looking at something like http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130932

Mainly because it's very highly rated on NewEgg. It's a little over budget (mine is roughly $200ish) but I figure it will provide enough value over time to compensate. Can I find similar performance for under $200?

Thanks!

Thanks for the link - really helped me narrow down my choices.

I'm trying to figure out if the $80 price difference will be profoundly felt on my system.

I run all games at 1650x1080 - and want to know if my current set up will be able to utilize all the power, or if there will be a bottle neck that I'm ignorant of.

The choices:
Radeon R9 270X
or
Radeon R9 280X
