Upgrade 7870 DEVIL to R9 280X and pay 100$ Worth it ?

Hi guys,

I have an offer to sell my PowerColor 7870 DEVIL Edition for 170$ "used of course" and get new XFX RADEON Double D R9 280X for 270$ ... >> i will pay 100$ over my old card and get the new one .. worth it ?

I will play all games on 24'inch screen with resolution 1920x1080

The R9 280X is essentially a HD 7970 Ghz Edition. If you get the R9 280X, you will be able to play max settings with some post processing or antialiasing settings toned down or off.
If you just want to max settings without caring much with AA turned on then the R9 280X is a nice upgrade. A R9 290 will max most games.
Personally, i have a R9 270 (HD 7870 equivalent) and i am more willing to upgrade to a R9 290 than a R9 280X.

You would see a performance boost in games.

It is probably worth it.

I wouldn't personally do it unless I could get $200 for the card.

Yeah more performance but you paid for a card, are selling it to buy a card for another $100?

Meh..

I don't think the performance is worth it.

Meh, 290 is so high for my needs and my money xD but if R9 280x after OC will get like 25% performance more compared with my 7870 i think it will worth buying it! right now the automatic detect on most games are medium not even high or ultra if exist :\
