Computer crashing randomly during gaming sessions

Hey everyone,
I've been having a problem with my PC for the past couple months now. I bought my computer for gaming and at first it worked amazingly, but now it seems to crash more and more often. So far, this crashing has occurred while playing games such as Skyrim, Dark Souls, Dark Souls II, Medieval 2: Total War, etc.

At first it only affected recent games that had good graphics such as a modded Skyrim, Bioshock Infinite, or Battlefield 4. Recently however, it's been crashing all kinds of games after a while, the most recent being Mount and Blade: Warband. That is about the least graphically-taxing game I have and it makes no sense to me that it crashes my computer.

There are two kinds of issues that occur:

(1)

Computer just shuts off. One minute I'm playing, the next I'm not. Due to the sudden nature of this kind of crash, I'm guessing it's either a power supply issue or an overheating issue. I have temperature monitoring software and it never seems to peak above 63-64 degrees Celsius, which to my knowledge, shouldn't cause any crashing. My power supply should be enough for my rig too, so I can't understand why that would be the cause either.

(2)

Screen goes to a weird dark-greenish color and then the monitor just stops working. Often, the sound will loop and become more and more distorted. The monitor will remain powered but it basically goes into screensaver mode and doesn't come back until I restart the system. I suppose this isn't really a crash, but it virtually acts like one to me. On a few occasions, this hasn't deactivated the monitor, but it will instead just send me back to the desktop, where I get a message that says something like, "Your display drivers have successfully recovered."

Looking at both of these options, it would make sense to assume that my graphics card is overheating, but I've never actually seen it get higher than maybe 65 degrees Celsius.

My specs are below:
Computer model: Gateway DX4870-UR3D
Operating system: Windows 7 64-bit
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2320 CPU @ 3.00GHz (4 CPUs), ~3.0GHz
Memory: 16GB RAM
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660
Power supply: RG 630-S12 (630 watts)

The computer is stock except for me adding another stick of RAM, upgrading the graphics card, and upgrading the power supply. Everything else is default.

Does anyone know what could be causing this? I bought this computer not even a year ago, so it's strange that it's acting up like this. I've tried starting fresh and wiping my hard drive, but the problems persist.

If anyone could help me with this, I would be very appreciative.
Thank you for your time.

For problem 1, you should try testing different wall outlets to see if the problem still occurs. For the second problem, you should try reseating your graphics card, and making sure that all the power cables are plugged in securely. Also update your graphics drivers.

I don't know answer but if you can check your event log and look to the recent critical errors, you can tell what is the error code and what is the name/reason of it. I Frisbee_68 is right, it should say something about Kernel.Power if your PC shuts down due to broken wall outlet.

Sorry it took so long to respond, I thought I had subscribed to this thread through email.

@Spectre

I looked at the Event Viewer. I've been avoiding gaming for a while because of these crashes, so I don't actually remember which of the critical errors were caused by the problems I listed above. That being said, a lot of them look to be the same, so I'm going to assume that they're the ones I'm looking for. The details are below:
