the vapor-x card is a tiny faster, and cools a little bit better, but is not really worth an extra $90.

I believe the cheaper one is the Tri-X model.

The case has a front and rear exhaust fans. I'd add a top rear exhaust and bottom intake. Cases should have at least 2 intake fans and 1 exhaust. Your case is ok. How about your other components. What is your CPU?

For cases. You want to make sure you have adequate cooling and good airflow. I'd look for a case that does not have a middle HDD cage so better front to back airflow. Also, I'd want a case that can accommodate 2x120mm or 2x140mm front fans. I'm recommending a good priced one, and one that I chose based on reviews.

If you can. Get this one. It has a great deal going on from Newegg.

As far as your components. Can you upgrade the MOBO a bit? This one is Z87 but the price and performance are excellent and there isn't much you gain buying Z97.

OK I think I might be getting that 500R case but that mobo is a Z87 and i5 4690k needs a Z97.

Also I was reading up a bit on CPU cooling and I think I might be switching to a liquid cooler. Any recommendations?

290x>290>280x. 290x is higher end. If you are 1080p gaming then you don't need more than a 280x or 290. 290x is really for 1440p gaming or 144Hz monitors.

btw, i wouldnt get a 290x, as an overclocked 290 outperforms an overclocked 290x, and is cheaper.

I read up on the 290x and 290 and Dan is right. The 290x overclocks badly and the 290 outperforms the 290x when overclocked. Thanks for the help guys I really appreciate it.
