My motherboard has usb 330s and so does my case. My motherboard only has the drivers for those usb 3.0s on windows 7. I didn't know and installed Windows 8. Is there anyway I can get them to work? I don't want to have usbs on my case that dont work.

That should work with 8. Did you check in the BIOS that USB3 is enabled? Also, look at the USB controllers in the device manager in win 8. Is there any USB device under "other devices" otherwise do the entries under "Universal Serial Bus Controllers" show any errors?

I checked to see if it was just the USB so I tried connecting my mouse to the case. The mouse works on the the mother board. I connected it to the case and the same thing that showed up for the USB showed up for the mouse

When you refresh the device manager or restart your system will automatically detect the device again and try to install the driver. This will sort out some errors in the driver that may have prevented it from working.

From the MSI download page have you installed all the other drivers, including the Intel Chipset?

You can try to run an Ubuntu LiveCD to test the USB ports in a different OS. Ubuntu also has USB3 drivers and it should work right away. DOwnload the image here:

and insert a blank dvd then right-click the downloaded .iso file and burn image to the DVD. Boot from it, then select "try ubuntu" when asked for a choice to try or install. Plug in a flash drive to test the ports there when the Ubuntu desktop has loaded. If it doesn't pop up on the screen click the file manager icon on the left hand tray to see it appears in the system there.

If you don't have a blank DVD there are instructions to create a bootable USB here
