motherboard has a 3 pin led

motherboard has a 3 pin led and the case only a positive and a negative pwr led

and pwr led doesnt show which one + and -

The positive one will often have a little arrow on it if there isn't a +/-. Leave the middle pin empty.

so it doesnt matter which one is +/- as long one is on left and one on the right? and i dont have to worry about there not being a gnd? just dont want it to short out

For the power and reset switches it doesn't matter which way they're plugged in, for the LEDs it does though it shouldn't do any damage to put it in the wrong way (just reinsert them the other way)

You need to put the lead with the arrow into the positive pin, but no you dont need to worry about a middle ground there will never be one on a power/HDD led
