if this http:// PSU will work with a Radeon 270x I am thinking of buying the 270x but not sure if it will with the PSU i have.

Yes this PSU will run R9 270x. No issue there.

Trouble is that its in Tier five - Replace immediately of http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1804779/power-supply-unit-tier-list.html

So I'd get something better eg Seasonic 520, XFX 550 or Antec HCG 520M

I actually don't see that in the list. Anyhow, Seasonic/XFX are very good brands to rely on. Agreed there.
