When I turn on my laptop the keyboard lights as though the laptop is going to start but then after 5 seconds it just dies. I have tried the laptop with the charger plugged in and the same happens and I've tried someone else's charger in case it that was the problem but whichever way I try it just dies. Can anyone help please?

also try this hard reset. Start with a hard reset:
Remove the battery and unplug the DC power adapter.
press and hold the power button for more than fifteen seconds.
plug in the DC power adapter (leave the battery out for now)
press the power button
