My set up at home is a desk with a TV on it and I have 3 things connected to my TV: cable, desktop computer and PS3. Now, my question is, is it possible that the large TV (I believe it's 32' or more) could possibly be hurting my computer display/graphics. The TV is not the highest quality TV, got it for my birthday during black friday one year. My computer seems to be very laggy even when I've upgraded it. Here are my specs and what I'm extremely laggy on:

CPU: AMD FX 4300
GPU: NVIDIA Gefore GTX 650 1024mb GDDR5
PSU: 500W, just upgraded that because the last one failed on me :(

if you want/need any more information please ask!

No, the display shouldn't be able to hurt your PC. If it's lagging, it's usually either overheating or infected with a virus.
I recommend downloading and running malwarebytes: http://www.malwarebytes.org/
Use HWMonitor to check your CPU/GPU temps and post a screenshot on TinyPic (or any site like that) and then link it on this thread.
It wont hurt your computer however HDTV's have a fair amount of post processing effects that add latency to display, which is why people tend to use monitors because they dont have these post processing effects and respond much faster, so you may find that using a TV things will respond a little slower than a monitor.

The TV per se is not a problem, but your system is low-end and sorta borderline for gaming at 1080p. It may be struggling some in certain games. What sort of "lag" are you experiencing? What framerates, in what games, and at what settings?

In addition to the latency issues explained above, TVs will generally look a lot worse than a computer monitor unless playing from some distance away. TVs usually have the same 1920x1080 resolution as a mainstream monitor, but since those pixels cover 32" instead of ~24", pixel density is comparably poor.

But no, there is nothing functionally wrong with using a television. There's no reason it should affect gaming performance aside from its resolution.
