I'm having a problem playing sounds out loud, like without a headset plugged in. Do I need a discrete sound card to do this? Or is this a driver's problem. Cause it seems like the onboard audio isn't even being recognized unless a headset is plugged in, which is realy annoying cause I like playing my stuff out loud. My motherboard is an MSI A88XM-E35.

Step 1: Check to make sure your playback device is set to speakers as defualt (realtek one).

Step 2: Grab the Realtek Audio driver for from the website, here is what you need-
http://us.msi.com/product/mb/A88XME35.html#/?div=Driver&os=Win8.1%2032

Step 3: Physically open your PC and make sure the HD Audio header is fully plugged in and that you have all connections made (use the manual your mobo came with) and make sure there are no objects or dust shorting any connections.

If none of these fixed it, it could be a problem with your actual speakers, a windows option (like your music program), or a damaged motherboard.

I can't select it as the default device cause it says it's unplugged. Although it appears that it's plugged in when I plug in a headset.

Also, I already installed the drivers, seven times over. Everytime I restart the computer, it installs all over again. Loop installation.

I opened up the case and checked to see if the cables were correctly seated. They were, so for pre cautionary measures, I went ahead and changed the audio cable from HD Audio to AC'97. Gonna fetch the AC'97 drivers and see how it works out.

Didn't work. I plugged the HD Audio back in and while searching, I got a suggestion to disable front panel audio jack detection. I never used the front panel since they were full of problems and never worked. So I went ahead and disabled it. The Realtek HD Audio Device in Sound Manager finally got detected as plugged in, so I made it a default device and tried to play some sounds. No sounds came out, but on the sound manager, it was picking up audio signals. Any advice? Any help?
