How do I install Windows 8.1 (digital vr) to my first pc build?

I'm building my first computer and for the operating system I'm going to get windows 8.1. I can get a copy free because I'm a student but it only comes in the digital version. How can I install it onto my computer?

you have to download it and burn it to a CD on another computer, then use the key they provide to install the product.
    look here
    http://windows.microsoft.com/is-is/windows-8/upgrade-product-key-only
but during the setup you select that you want to make a CD or usb thumb drive.

you can goggle "install windows 8 with only a product key" and get better instructions.
  2. There is tool at Microsoft which allows you to make bootable USB from an ISO file you would download.
  3. How many gb should be suffice for a flash drive/DVD/CD to be able to store windows 8.1.
  4. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/create-reset-refresh-media

basically 2.6 gigabytes for a 64 bit version, smaller for the 32 bit version.
I think i used a 4 gb drive the last time and put a bunch of extra files on it. graphics drivers setups, and tools i generally use.
