How do I install Windows 8.1 (digital vr) to my first pc build?
I'm building my first computer and for the operating system I'm going to get windows 8.1. I can get a copy free because I'm a student but it only comes in the digital version. How can I install it onto my computer?
you have to download it and burn it to a CD on another computer, then use the key they provide to install the product.
but during the setup you select that you want to make a CD or usb thumb drive.
you can goggle "install windows 8 with only a product key" and get better instructions.
There is tool at Microsoft which allows you to make bootable USB from an ISO file you would download.
basically 2.6 gigabytes for a 64 bit version, smaller for the 32 bit version.
I think i used a 4 gb drive the last time and put a bunch of extra files on it. graphics drivers setups, and tools i generally use.OORAYZA said:How many gb should be suffice for a flash drive/DVD/CD to be able to store windows 8.1.
