Hello all!
My HDD got a little corrupted - I can't copy or open files from it.
I wanted to treat it with HDD Regenerator (many people with this issue have reported, that using HDD R solves the problem) and regenerate some bad sectors.

However, HDD Regenerator need disks to run in IDE mode.
http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/P45XE-R/ I have this mobo and latest bios.

However, when I try to change SATA mode from AHCI to IDE, none of my disks are recognized by BIOS. How I can fix that?

thanks!

the bios should see the drive with out those setting being set and then you set the drive to ide -ahci or raid prior to the os insrtall.. as for me when a drive starts to gat faults I feel it time to look for a new drive [opinion] now it may work for 7 more years or 7 more hrs. but something in the drive has failed and caused the bad sectors and next time will it be in the boot area or the windows core files?? then your really out .. but that's just me a failing is a failing drive..[more opinion]

A bad sector is a sector on a computer's disk drive or flash memory that cannot be used due to permanent damage (or an OS inability to successfully access it), such as physical damage to the disk surface (or sometimes sectors being stuck in a magnetic or digital state that cannot be reversed
