Hi,

The problem is not with the mobo, it's with windows xp.

If you want to use AHCI, it is tricky.
You can google xp ahci and you should fine nice guides that explains how to install xp in AHCI mode.

Although, you would be better off with windows 7

Google "install windows from usb" and their are a ton of great tutorial on that too
