This is my first custom build and I recently bought an antistatic wrist band. Can someone please give me detailed instructions on how it works and how to use it properly?

Make sure the gear you are working on is NOT PLUGGED IN.

Wrist strap goes on your wrist. The other end goes to a metal part of the chassis that is not painted or treated. Never ever, work on gear that has power applied to it while wearing your wrist strap.
