One of my friends just finished putting together a build with an AMD 8350 OCed to 4.8 ghz and an Asus OC version of the GTX 760. He doesn't really like the way the 760 is performing, though, so he's thinking about returning it and getting an R9 280x. First of all, is it worth the upgrade? And, if it is, which model should he get? I've never used AMD gpu's so idk, but I was looking at these two:

http://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-GDDR5-3GB-Graphics-GV-R9...

I know the Gigabyte is probably a better value but micro center doesn't have it and apparently they give free games with their AMD cards. Thoughts?

Yeah I'd certainly choose the Gigabyte one, why does the GPU have to be from Microcenter though?

The ASUS model is also really nice, and the same price as the Gigabyte one on amazon.

It doesn't have to be, it just makes things easier. We have a micro center really close by and micro center gives like 2-3 free games with their GPUs.

I feel like Asus' cards are generally smaller, and that makes them have less room for overclocking. I haven't had good experiences with Asus cards, for me, MSI or Gigabyte have always been the best.
