AMD vs NVIDIA for 4K gaming

Hello All,

This is my second thread about 4k GPU's so please forgive me.

Recently i bought a 4K 60hz monitor, and absolutely love the clarity, however my Dual GTX 770's 4GB SLI will not hold decent frame rates in heavy games like BF4, so i have come to the obvious conclusion that i need to upgrade to even more powerful GPU's. Heres my question, should I go with the GTX 780 6GB versions in dual SLI, or go for a AM R9 295X2 to support my monitors high resolution.

I am normally a NVIDIA enthusiast and i do not know how i feel about AMD, or if i will see much of a difference between the too. Never owned an AMD card so i am hoping i could get some opinions on which card(s) would work best for 4K gaming.

Thanks!

780 sli get ti if you can
  2. Given this Toms review, I think that the 295X2 would be better for most games. It beats out the 780 Ti SLI in most cases so I would think it would definitely beat a 780 SLI rig.

The problem i have about the TI card is that it currently only comes in 3GB. 3GB is going to become very small at 4K resolutions.
  4. yep, go for Amd, 4Gb will help and they have the upper margin on high resolution dual card.
  5. Go for 295x2 for 4k gaming. I still feel that 780 sli is still good for up to 1440p.

    Good luck.
  6. The 295x2 would definitely outperform the GTX 780 SLI.

Well i ended up getting 2 290x's instead of the 295x2 due to the price. Just slapped 2 water coolers on them and now their running great.

    Thanks Guys!
  8. Good luck and enjoy...
