60Hz monitor or 144Hz monitor for gaming

Which one would be better 60Hz monitor is like 100$ less while 144hz monitor is more expensive but also higher fps. the monitor will be for gaming

If the monitors you are considering are asus vg248qe I have been running 3 of them now since last year when the gtx titan came out. Great monitors and once tuned properly they look great as well.

If your PC can infact maintain 144 FPS average, then congrats. That aside, it depends on the games you play as well. If you play a LOT of FPS games, especially if you play competitively, you'll benefit from the 144 Hz monitor. Otherwise, the 60 Hz should do fine.

BTW, you may be able to get more out of the 60 hz monitor if you have a Nvidia Graphics Card. I don't know how to do it with AMD graphics cards. Linus has a tutorial to do that.( it is very old but still applicable)

Assuming all other things are equal (size, color quality, etc.), the 144hz monitor is better. The question is whether the 144hz feature is worth $100 to you.

I would suggest you strongly consider it - a great monitor can outlast the machine it is bought with, so it is generally well worth spending money on.
