So I've got an IPod running IOS 5. Old I know but I'm about to get a phone. Anyways, I think it might have a virus. My family has a wifi network and I read else where that malware can spread via a network. I was wondering if I switched off the wifi on my IPod could I still listen to music on it but not risk other computers and devices on the network?

Thanks!

The chance your ipod actually has a virus is minuscule and even if it did the chances of it spreading via wifi to anything else is even less likely by a very large margin, but I suppose anything is possible. I think you are probably being paranoid but what makes you think the ipod has a virus anyway. And to answer your question, yes, shutting of wifi on the ipod will isolate it entirely, of course.
