XFX 750w Pro750w with a z400 workstation?

I have a z400 workstation and I'd like to upgrade the power supply because I'm upgrading a video card. So, I went ahead and went for the 750w after I had been told the XFX 550w would work (go ahead and get more while I'm at it) but when it arrived, I plugged it in appropriately and when I'd turn it on, the fan would turn for about a second and then it would shut off and the computer would start beeping.

I'd like to know if this piece is plain incompatible or it's a faulty power supply.

I am not sure if the z400 has a proprietary ATX connection and I can't access any of the information.

In case that it is not proprietary can you list everything that you connected and which 4 pin connection of the 8 pin connection that splits into 2 4 pin connections did you use? Thanks.

Sometimes, the power supply won't work in servers. I tried to install a CX430 in a dell poweredge 600sc and it wouldn't fully load the bios but when I placed the original power supply back in, it loaded past bios.
