Hi,
I'm Building a new pc for my brother. He wants to play lots of games just with His pc . Not seeking for the ultra but high preset with great details will be good to go. I already have a core i5 3450 and a Asus new b75 board from my previous built. I upgraded to 4th Gen.
So I don't need to care about the cpu. I have brought 2 tb hdd a corsair Cx 600 psu and 120 gb ssd with a corsair carbide 500r cabinet.
Now for 1080p high preset gaming need (24 inch led 120 hz but will play games at 60 hz) is the Radeon r9 270x a good GPU. It's one of the best budget mid ranger right now and I have seen reviews that this card playing some games with even ultra settings with respectable fps. I won't upgrade His pc for 1 year.
And also when it comes to ram, I have seen the modern trends to 1600 mhz ones even I have brought 8 gb one but saw ncix tech tips that the ram memory freq doesn't make so much sense and performance improvement.. If it's that then I can save few bucks buying a 1333 mhz stick.
Hoping for quick reply.

R9 270X is great for 1080p gaming. Most of the Mid to High range GPUs that are on a 256 bit bus, as the R9 270X is, are going to roughly perform similar in most games so R9 270, R9 270x, HD 7870, GTX 760 ect...Your going to get good FPS with the i5 3450 and R9 270X setup, Any game at 1920x1080 you should be able to crank up the details,... maybe not MSAA or SSAA in games like Far Cry 3 or Metro Last light as that can cut the framerate in half

It seems that 1600 mhz ram is the sweet spot right now for general performance/price, and usually you get slightly better performance if you run dual channel, so running 2 x 4gb instead of 1x8gb. The 270x is a decent card but if your budget allows it I would try for the 280x.

well if you are struck with that price range then i will suggest nvidia 660 ti
but even if u wanna go for r9 270x then its ok
and you are correct that ram freq doesnt matter that much , it will barely effect 2-3 fps

Rajatshrm.. Bro do u really think that a 660ti is a upgrade from 270x.! Lol.. Both of them fall in the same category.. Even the 760 just pushes 9-12 fps more barely than r9 270x in most cases..
And Thank u vitric9 for ur recommendation.. And I don't care about msaa.. Fxaa even in 1080 p gives great details.. Mine have a 770. But mah brother know Nothing about gaming.. He is just 13 and newcomer in gaming world. Lol..
He will hardly tweak any settings.. And till he learns all of those it will be time enough to make another worthy upgrade for him.
