what programs should begin at startup?

The trouble shooter says that too many programs run at start up and I don't know which ones to delete. I'm trying to improve my ram so that the computer will stop beeping at me.

This site goes through the needed services, and shows which ones are safe to turn off for Win 7 and Win 8. This might help.
