I'm struggling to save the necessary funds for my re-build gaming PC, but have enough now to get the new Mobo and CPU (Intel core i3 4130) Can't quite afford the recommended G.Skill Ares DDR3-1600 RAM yet but have already Corsair XMS2 RAM. My limited learning so far tells me that the ASRock will run the Corsair RAM, but I'm not sure how efficient it will be and therefore how much of my total 4Gb it can use.I have got one Corsair DDR2 2048MB card, but it's only 800MHz and I don't think I can mix it with the 1250's. I'm V eager to get back to some half way decent gaming, and will be able to buy the G.Skill DDR3 soon. So, can I start with the Corsair RAM, and then just replace it soon as, or should I wait until I can afford the G.Skill? What are the potential problems with using the Corsair RAM?

Hello... you will only be able to use the DDR3 ram in your new MB... the DDR2 ram has different slot keys and will not physically fit... you can use 1333 DDR3 ram too if a better price option is available... 2gb DDR2 sticks can be sold on EBAY yet, at a good price.

Thanx Ironsounds. Had no idea of pin configuration. I checked 1333MHz prices, and they're more expensive!?! Posts I've read say 1600 is better so I will go for the original recommendation. May just have to wait a while longer. Thanx also for the e-bay tip, will check it out. :)
