After reviewing answers from a lot of people i have come up with these builds. Which one do you think i should pick and would best fit my needs. Should i change anything. I am not planning on overclocking. I'll be doing research and watching movies but mostly gaming on it. No editing or anything. Want to play new games on ultra and i don't plan on overclocking.

i would go with the second build, although if i was you i would get another MOBO, from the MSI gaming series or Asus ROG series. other that that the build will meet your requirements :)

does motherboard really matter. I am already over my budget. I don't want to SLI and just need basic capabilities.

Dude. Your insane. You will litteraly break your pc with that shit psu. I mean you cant just focus on the gpu and put shit stuff with everything else. The 780 requires more than 600w, and its also 72% efficient. Dont cheap out man, because if you do, your $1500 builds will go down the drain.

It just seems like you want to blow up your computer. Change the psu, the mobo to atleast something better.

Cant believe nobody mentioned this to you. I would get an hx750w psu. Or get atleast a 750w psu that has more or equal than 80+ Gold. Not 80+Lol.

Splendid
The onyl differnace of a Z board is to overclock with H series you can overclock ram with B series you can overclock anything but runs just aswell stock as the other boards. If you do not plan to overclock which you stated buying a z motherboard is a waste of money. Youre basically paying more money to overclock then not using it

Anivel,
Heres a link to the ***minimum requirements***:http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gtx-780/specifications

I beg you atleast get a 750w 80+ gold psu. The psu is the most important part of the build because if the psu is messed up or bad, it will fry your computer. 600w is the minimum, very limited. And if you take into consideration your efficiency in your psu, which is 72%, you really only have around 432w available. If you got a 600w with 80+ gold, i would be a lot less worried. But i mean your psu will cause you trouble, believe me. Trying to help you here, get an 80+ gold psu with 650-750w. Believe me you wont regret it, it will save your money.
