Clean Install vs. Clone

My hard drive has been giving me a lot of problems so I recently bought a new one. The old hard drive would give me a BSOD when I tried to download anything and it was usually either CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED or KERNAL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR. Think it is a hardware issue but I am unsure whether to clone the old hard drive's contents onto the new one or do a clean install. I have a lot of games loaded onto my old one(thanks steam sales) and it would take months to re download it all so cloning is preferred. Would cloning the old hard drive possibly cause the same problems in the new one?

Solution
Do a clean install theres a chance alot of the files are corrupt which would go onto the new drive requiring a fresh install anyways.

What would the risk be to cloning it? If it turned out I still got the errors could I not just reset it and then do a clean install? Thanks for your answer btw

Yeah but the likelyness of taking a clone image from a corrupt drive and having the image being corrupt is extrememly high. I'm just trying to save you alot of time. Its usually only best to take a clone image when the drive was functioning properly.
