Hello everyone.
I'm planning to build mini-ITX formfactor pc for gaming and working. I have given a lot of time to figure out this setup, and I finally ended up to the SG08 case since the more powerful SFX PSU:s are so high in price. This case should allow use of long graphics card with max of 140mm long ATX PSU. I also considered the Cooler Master Elite 130 -case, but the airflow on that case doesn't make sense to me.

I'm going to buy almost all the parts from mindfactory.de, and the current price of the system would be ~940€

What do you think about this setup?
Is everything OK, or is there something to consider changing?

You are pretty much sorted, but there's a couple of things to consider.

Firstly, do you actually need 240Gb of high speed storage? It's a great thing to have, but it does potentially eat into your budget without providing a great return on your investment. It's an obvious place to free up some funds.

Secondly, you are right that going with a case which uses SFX PSUs can force you into spending more, but there are also "extra" expenses and compromises with the case you have chosen.

  • ■ If you are limited to 140mm PSUs, it removes a lot of the really popular options, and I doubt that the EVGA 600B is anyone's first choice.
    ■ If you need an optical drive then you need to get a slim slot loader.
    ■ You need to buy a 180mm fan (which isn't super cheap) as it comes with none at all.
    ■ The orientation of the case limits your choice of CPU coolers to down or up-blowers, which aren't as easy to shop amongst as tower coolers are, and can be tricky from a motherboard compatibility perspective. Something like a Noctua NH-C14 would be great, but they aren't cheap.
Just to be clear, I'm not knocking the SG08, I like Silverstone cases a lot, but as with most ITX builds there's usually a trade off when you start making decisions that might not always be obvious. If you haven't considered it, I'd suggest looking at the Fractal Design Node 304 as it removes most of my points above, though it does entirely remove ODD provision.
