I am building computer right now and i have an AMD AM3+ socket. I have the M5A99FX PRO R2.0 Motherboard and I put all the nuts on the risers and did everything correctly. But i need to screw the screws down and people recommend go diagonal when screwing. So I did the first corner and i went to the next corner but the screw is to high up and i cant screw it. PLEASE HELP IMMEDIATELY!!! :(

Solution
Screw the first screw in just barely enough to hold down the cooler. Then move to the other side and push down, it should take a moderate amount of pressure to push down the other side.
You don't want to tighten them all the way down one at a time.

You want to turn each screw a couple of times and move to the next and so on until all are tightened. It's not an exact science, but this method can insure pretty even pressure.

Tip just in case... Never use power tools when building a PC, unless you have a special drill by which you can set the torque and you know the torque for all of screw holes in each component. For the most part, people don't have this info, so I recommend no power tools.
