I was wondering whether I would be able to use the radiator that comes pre-built with closed loop watercooling, and make it an open loop. (Use the closed loop Rad to cool and have my own tubes, etc, etc)

You can even use the cpu block. Take a look at this: http://www.overclock.net/t/754545/ultimate-h50-mod-guid...

Wow! That's pretty sweet. With that Mod, would I be able to add a pump and reap our for lowers CPU temps? Also, if I could, would it bee too much on the radiator if I cooled my GPU too? (My GPU is an R9 290x 4GB XFX)

Yeah it worked for him, he got lower temps. It's possible to cool the gpu too, but it depends on which rad you have. A 120 rad for the vga only will be enough. Shared with the cpu a 240 rad would be the minimum size you should aim for.

Great! Well, I have a 240mm so it will probably work well. Would this work for a pump? I was trying to find. Good pump until I can ivest in a better one; overall, I'm going to upgrade it to a Beast cooling... But that's months from now :p

Forgot to add link... Here: KEEDOX® DC30A-1230 12V DC 2 Phase CPU Cooling Car Brushless Water Pump Waterproof Submersible by hossen http://www.amazon.com/dp/B009X6ADCM/ref=cm_sw_r_udp_awd...

Lol
Will this pump keep my CPU at lower than 80F (30C I beleive) with no apps open?

hello i was reading along and thought that i would put my thoughts down for you to consider if you are looking to build a good CPU cooling system that can be later upgraded with only a few mods isuggest this kit

http://www.frozencpu.com/products/20838/ex-wat-262/XSPC...

or this one

http://www.frozencpu.com/products/22395/ex-wat-286/Alph...

I have been doing this for 20 years and i like these kits there not as good as a full coustom loop but as a start up kit thay are real good systems.
