System overheating with just a cpu fan?

Hello, I recently rebuilt my system and included a cooler master hyper 2 evo for the cpu cooler. I have purchased some new games. I was playing Batman Arkam Origins and I have noticed the game shuts down and reboots. Then I noticed the exhaust area is getting really warm. My daughter told me she is seeing the same issue when playing Tomb Raider. Would switching out the fan to liquid cooling with a double radiator make a difference?

I switched over to the Bios and it was showing 46 but the top of the system where I installed two fans was really warm and that has me concerned?

46c is fine. What's your temp under full load? Download MSI Afterburner, and you can display your CPU temp while playing. Monitor it while playing an intensive game or benchmark and say the temp of the CPU.

oh ok, I have that Afterburner program that came with the MSI R9 270 that I also installed. During game play, how high would be to high of a temp?
