I just built my first computer with the help of a friend who has built a couple. Everything seemed to be going great until one time when we restarted the computer it would not post. It only flashes between the DRAM LED and the CPU LED a couple times then restarts and the same thing happens again. Whenever I press the memOK button it will restart and everything works perfectly. The first Bios screen tells me to save my memory settings and I think I have but when I restart the same problem persists. I have tried multiple memory cartridges, unplugging my video card, unplugging/replugging connections, but the same thing happens every time.

Motherboard-Asus Z87-PLUS
RAM - Kingston HyperX 16GB (2 x 8GB) 1600
CPU - Intel i7-4770K

Do you oc the CPU or RAM?
Try to use the Ai Tweaker, you may need tweak the cpu or RAM voltage like that. Check the manual page 3-9 Ai tweaker menu section. Or just use the XPM in the "Ai overclock tuner".

Hi, I'm Jewel with Kingston Technical Support and would like to offer our assistance. Make sure the memory is installed in the A2/B2 slots (they should be the yellow ones). That is the recommended configuration according to your motherboard manual and if you are overclocking it is especially important to run in that configuration. Before overclocking any settings leave the memory on default settings, pressing the memok button resets it to default and run memtest on the memory to see if there are any errors. If there are that would explain the immediate failure when overclocked. If not the timings may not be getting set properly causing the crash. There should be a part number starting with KHX on the memory and if you look that up on our website you can find the proper timings for the memory OR just select the available XMP profile. For any further assistance, please call us at 1-800-435-0640 (USA and Canada only) M - F 6am - 6pm PT and I or another available Technician will assist you.

Thank you for selecting Kingston as your upgrade partner.

I have the XMP profile selected, however it still will not work when I save and reset.
