Well this site has gotten me through things such as getting a new graphics card and a new computer fan.. But now I come with something that baffles me way more then the previous two... After going to a few places to see what was wrong with my pc I was told that I need a new motherboard... Unfortunately I have no idea how I am gonna pick the right one. So I will try to give as much info to help as possible.

Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1
System Manufacturer: ASUSTeK Computer INC.
System Model: CG5270
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q8300 @ 2.50GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.5GHz
Memory: 8192MB RAM
PSU: 400 Watts

The computer in the link is the exact tower case that I have

So I need to know what motherboard would fit into this pc tower. I was also hoping to get the same motherboard I already have but have yet to find one.. Any help on this one?

There is that:

While buying motherboard you should check that specs:

-Socket (Most important and it is for CPU) it must be same with CPU's socket.
-Supported RAM amount and speed. (If your ram is 1600 Mhz it mus support it.)
-PCI Expansion slots (If your GPU is PCI 3.0 x16 and motherboard has PCI 2.0 or older GPU may work in compatibilty mode which is not really cool.)
- SATA slots. I see you have an old LGA 775 Socket so it probably has SATA I or SATA II slots, which means you will have seroius problems with 6GB SATAs or SSDs.

Opinion:

Change you Motherboard and buy this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813132133

This is an mATX Motherboard since your PC case is Mini Tower.

Combine this MOBO with...
I suggest either buying a new computer or upgrading the CPU as well. The LGA775 socket is way out of date. Any motherboard still in existence to run it isn't worth the price.

I recommend starting over. You can keep the graphics card, etc. Please know that you will have to re-install your operating system. So if you don't want to lose any files, make sure you back them up.

Combine this MOBO with: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116989&cm_re=i5_4690-_-19-116-989-_-Product

This is the LOCKED model of 4690 but it will do your job very well, I do not really love overclocking.

Get a new more efficient PSU, because old ones are not efficient. Go for : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139028&cm_re=corsair_cx600-_-17-139-028-_-Product

You may also check your RAM, I suppose it is DDR3 and at least 1600 MHz but if it is not, pair this items with a : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231428&cm_re=G_Skill_Ripjaws-_-20-231-428-_-Product

All those will cost you 550 USD and you have your PC recreated in 2014 technology. Also if you want a new GPU ( I don't know your model) you can even buy a R9 290 for 400 USD and it will still be under 1000 USD.
