BF4 Extreme FPS Lag - Even replaced CPU!

Hello, I have this problem with my new PC. My FPS drops from 65-70 to 15-20 for few seconds and then back to normal. This his happening every minute or so. I have tried pretty much everything and nothing helps.

Specs:

CPU: AMD FX 8350
GPU: gtx 760 2gb
Motherboard: ASUSTeK Computer INC. M5A78L-M/USB3 (AM3R2)
RAM: 16.0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 800MHz
OS: Windows 8.1 64 bit

Your 760g motherboard isn't good for the 8-core cpus, they have weak vrms and will cause the cpu to intermittently throttle(where the fps drops are coming from) replace it with a better motherboard, You may also have to replace the case aswell since the good AM3 motherboard are all ATX and will not fit in a matx case. Here's a better motherboard and case(if needed).

I have seen the issue many times before with the 760G chipset. Another possible cause would be a power supply supplying dirty and/or insufficient power.

Use cpu-z or speccy to monitor the cpu speed while you run something like furmark(windowed mode) or prime95 to max out the cpu and see if the cpu speed intermittently drops. Also run hwmonitor to monitor voltages.

What case are you using now? If it will house an ATX board then you just need the motherboard.

The behavior isn't normal which is why you're replacing the motherboard. The board uses a 4+1 VRM phase which is kinda low for a power hungry cpu like the 8 core fx series. To make it worse the vrms have no heatsink. The VRMs will get very hot and have a hard time powering the cpu and will cause it to throttle. BF4 will use a good amount of CPU even on lower graphical settings.

and your sure it will work? sorry im just so paranoid ive already spent money on a new cpu for no reason :c + should i just get that mobo or is it worth getting a better one?

The gigabyte I suggested is about the best 970 board you can get and it uses a 8+2 power phase, and its a good price. Next step would be a 990(x or FX) chipset and those are ~$40+ more than the 970 gigabyte.

Well one of the other possible problems is dirty power, as that could cause the issue aswell. I would need the make and model to look at specs/reviews to see id that model is known to have issues with dirty power.

Aerocool VP Pro 750 Watt PSU

Well shit. Looks like you have 2 possible causes. Aerocool Vp series has problems with volatge regulation and ripple. The unit is built by andyson, whom also makes alot psus for Raidmax who is one of the worst psu brands available. It could be the motherboard, it could be the PSU, it could be a combination of both. Either way IMHO both should be replaced. Here is a new list

The PSU is smaller but is much higher quality and more than capable of running your system.
