p67 upgrade -- z97 or x99?

My p67 and 2600k are getting a bit long in the tooth and im looking for an upgrade.

is it worth waiting till september for the x99? multi gpu setups (SLI, etc) don't interest me.

mainly use the computer for photo/video editing, gaming, etc. Right now have upgraded most of the components (samsung 840 pro, amd 7970, 1000w psu)

Haswell E processors are rumored to have up to 8 cores, and quad-channel DDR4 RAM -- could be worth waiting for, depending on how rigorous your vieo editing work is. It will be costly! Z97 & 4790K would be a great upgrade to what you have without having to replace RAM.

I think if that if video/photo editing is not your business, then go Z97. At least, that's what I would do. FWIW.

I bought x58 and ddr3 when new still playing bf4 over 60 fps with my 7970 3gb cost me alot of money but at five years got my moneys worth , may be the last enthuist platform to come out but if you only game z97 is great option get your sli or crossfire with money saved me want too run games from rram disk and run seti or something in the back ground
