Hi, I'm planning of buying a new laptop for my mom who uses AutoCAD for her job.
The laptop is a HP envy 15-t series.
The specs are pretty good in general.
4th generation Intel® Core™ i7-4710HQ Quad Core Processor + Intel® HD Graphics 4600
8GB DDR3L System Memory (1 Dimm)
1TB 5400 rpm Hard Drive
15.6-inch diagonal HD WLED-backlit Display (1366x768) Touchscreen
So the only thing that worries me is the Intel HD 4600 GPU. I haven't had any PCs before with integrated chips, so I've got no idea how it performs. Her previous laptop had an Intel Core 2 Duo running @ 2.5ghz 4gb ram and an nVidia 9500M GS video card, and it would lag a bit sometimes when using AutoCAD.
Now granted, she won't do the heaviest stuff that AutoCAD allows you to do, so just for the general stuff you can do in AutoCAD, is the HD 4600 okay?
