Is my cooling system decent?

Hi,

I just want to know if this airflow is decent. ANY suggestions that includes buying new things, e.x get 120mm fans instead is not wanted.

2x 80mm fans rear.
1x 120mm fan bottom front
Hyper Evo 212, with the fan blowing right (Its blowing right, towards the 2 rear fans)
One stock CPU cooler mounted ON the VRM's heatsinks (blowing air directly on the VRM)
PSU is mounted home-fashion way. Its at the front where the floppy and DVD-ROM should be, right above the 120mm front bottom fan. The fan is on the inside, and the grid is on the outside (PSU).

Is it decent, or is the airflow totaly fked up?

The 80MM fans on the back is an odd thing to do. I would expect at least 120MM. Other than that, that is a decent amount of airflow.

.... Yes I know that. But my case is over 10 years old, so there is only 2x 80mm fan mounts rear, and one 120mm bottom front.

I really really hope that the fan i mounted on the VRM Heatsinks doesnt loosen up from its mount, cuz then my graphic card is probably wrecked, lol... The fan is mounted with some regular doublesided tape pads, lawl...

Dunno how you will feel about this, but you can get some decent cases for as low as $20 bucks. Chassis technology has come a long way over the last ten years.

Also, have you had problems with overheating? If not, I don't see anything wrong with it. The part about VRM heatsink damaging the GPU does worry me though.

No I dont have any overheating issues at all actually. I just want to keep it as cool as possible. The only component that exceeds 60degrees celsius is the VRM's, but I've heard that those are pretty heat tolerance.

Yea, I havent mounted it in a smart way, but I took a small "lock-stripe" i dno what its called, thru the fans screw holes, and locked it around the 5V cable. So IF the tape pad comes off, it hopefully would hang there, and not actually land on my gpu.

Btw, I have one more question. U know on a oldschool case, the PSU mount is at the TOP rear. I have mounted my PSU at the front instead, so it doesnt cool itself by all heated air that is pushed to the rear. I have taped the square hole. I thought if I dont, it might disrupt my airflow or something. Should I leave it open, or tape it?

Not having tried it myself, but I have heard of people who do not even put fans on the card VRMS when they use a universal water block. Some of them say it makes no difference. What card are you using?

What is "card VRMS" ? I know VRM, but what card? My fan makes around 10-15degrees celsius cooler than if I had no fan there. But its not a chipset fan, its a CPU cooler from AMD FX-4300 stock.

I think I was confused about the GPU being damaged. How hot do the VRMS (voltage regulation modules) get? Unless you're GPU is mounted upside-down, a fan landing on it would not really have an effect.

What? Are you saying that if my fan that is mounted on the VRM heatsinks (which is located left of the CPU), fall off its mount, my GPU wont have any effect at all?... And no, my GPU isnt upside-down, is that even possible?

I am talking about VCORE VRM, not the GPU regulators.

The VRM, mainly VCORE1 in Thermal Radar gets upto 70degrees celsius in BF4 load. But that was before the fan. Now, maybe 60-65max. 35-45 idle with the vrm fan on max.

I mean that a fan falling on the back of the GPU would break the fan before the GPU was hurt, presuming you don't have some ghetto-rigged fan with steel blades. (That would be pretty cool) What motherboard are you using?

Are you absolutely sure about that? I mean, there is solder dots and stuff, right? Is there no risk of shorting the GPU if the fan gets on it?

I have a ASUS Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 AM3+

Btw, my temps are awesome. Im actually stunned, cuz this case sucks and I have used electrictape to cover the holes and openings, lawl.. This is on the fans on max and surfing. All values below are celsius

CPU: 34
MB: 31
VCORE1 (VRM): 36
VCORE2 (VRM): 36
NB HT: 35
DRAM: 32
Awesooome :D
