Hello,

I just purchased a new Western Digital WD AV-GP WD10EURX 1TB IntelliPower 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive. My current set up includes:

250gb Samsung SSD
500gb Western Digital
640gb Western Digital

Windows 7 runs off of the SSD and all of these drives function perfectly and I've never had any issues.

After installing the new 1TB drive and booting up, the SSD makes a strange beeping noise and stays at the flash screen longer than usual. The beeping stops after I have reached the boot manager. In the bios and boot manager the new drive is recognized along with my other drives, but when I boot from the SSD the boot fails. When I unplug the new drive and leave all other drives connect, all the drives work perfectly with no beeping noise.

It isn't a PSU issue as the same issue occurs when I power on with just the SSD and new drive connected. Since the new drive is recognized in the bios I'm assuming that it isn't defective, but I could be wrong.

Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks

Thanks

Is this drive really not functional in a traditional sense in a pc?
