reset computer no password

My mom passed away and no one knows her password on her fairly new computer. I want my daughter to be able to use it but can't at this point. What do we do? We have tried every imaginable combination we can think if!

Full OS reinstall.
Whatever the apparent circumstances, we can't assist with getting around a password that no one knows.
