Hey guys I really need your help. My computer says that my boot device cannot be found, but when I choose what device I want it to boot from, it automatically boots. I have it listed at the top of the boot order.

My computer is an HP p7-1227c, Please Help!

Yeah I saved it, and it was right after trying to add another OS drive for dual boot purposes. It ended up messing up with this, so I removed the drive, and restored my Windows 8 to factory settings, but it still is popping up.

OK. Most people also use boot management software. Did you have all the drivers (per Control Panel, Device Manager) on both drives?

You probably need to start all over again with one drive. Re-install Windows on it (which will wipe the drive, so back up data) and update drivers and re-install apps and put back data.

HP's aren't the sort of pc you should try dual OS on.

Try checking if the boot mode has changed in the BIOS, Windows 8 relies on the UEFI boot mode setting and virtually every other OS uses the legacy BIOS setting.
